Telavi is a city in the province of Kakheti in the country of Georgia. I was told by the tourist information center to visit the king's castle there; but it was closed for maintance. The 'old town' is really RENEWed by placterying a coat of fresh paint or cement on the front of each house. Worst of all, some houses were totally fake like those in the Universal Studio. I do not understand why people here did that. They did the same things to 'renovated' some churches, such as repaibting the roofs with a bright color (which took away the historical feel). Sigh, me.
Alaverdi Cathedral Built in the 11th century this is the second highest cathedral in Georgia.
Church of St. George
Tsinandali Gardens The residential palace of the Chavchavadzes family.
